Anabel Salón (Barcelona, 1999) is a visual artist and illustrator. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Universitat de Barcelona, furthered her training in painting during her time at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, and later completed a Master’s in Teacher Training at the Universitat Internacional Valenciana (VIU). She currently lives and works between Barcelona and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and also teaches at the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR), where she leads courses on art, history, and creativity.

Her practice revolves mainly around painting. Through still lifes and compositions of a costumbrista, realist character, she builds images tied to nostalgia, intimacy, and memory. Her work pays attention to those elements that usually go unnoticed and yet remain bound to particular moments: the people who are no longer here, the damp smells of August, wine with soda, the television always on in the kitchen, the feeling that summer is coming, or the small objects that outlive those who lived among them.

Her work thus reflects on the relationship between memory and belonging, and on painting’s capacity to preserve what inevitably disappears. Her images sit in an intermediate space between the lived and the remembered, where the everyday becomes a way of evoking what endures.
